DESCRIPTION:ON-THE-BIKE 101\nNICA’s On-the-Bike (OTB) 101 course is required for all Level 2 and 3 coaches. Register HERE. \nOther Info: This course is taught by Cascade Raft and Kayak.  Participants will receive a 3-year certification from Sierra Rescue for WFA and 2-year for CPR. \nThis 16-hour class will fulfill NICA Coach Licensing Level 2 & 3 First Aid requirements. Open to all Level 1-3 NICA Coaches. \nThe Wilderness First Aid Course will meet all requirements outlined by the Wilderness Medical Society for the WFA certification\, which will include Patient Assessment and Movement\, as well as Managing Major Trauma\, Wounds\, and Musculoskeletal Injuries.  We will also devote time to Common Medical and Environmental Problems\, particularly those relevant to Cycling Coaches and Leaders. \nWhile we’ll cover the full spectrum of required topics\, there will be an emphasis on simple strategies for handling common problems.  There will be time for questions and discussion in the highly interactive learning environment. DESCRIPTION:Where: Eagle Bike Park\, Eagle ID \nDetails: Time to kick off the 2024 mountain bike season with an all-girls\, all-levels GRiT Social Ride! This event is for all of our girl student athletes\, girls (grades 6-12) who are interested in joining a NICA team\, and prospective female coaches.  We’ll be breaking into groups based on riding experience and head out for a social-paced ride.  Our brand new riders will participate in a basic skills clinic with the intent of getting out on a short trail ride.  We’ll ride for an hour or so and come back for a pizza party (pizza provided by the IICL) and a bike gear exchange.\n\nNew for 2024!  We will also be offering a mom’s ride!  If you are a true beginner with little to no off-road mountain biking experience\, we’ll have a basic skills clinic.  For our moms with more experience riding off-road\, we’ll do a mellow social ride.\n\nPlease bring your mountain bike\, helmet\, water bottle/hydration pack\, trail snacks\, and sunscreen.  Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.\n\nFor the gear exchange\, please feel free to bring any bike-related gear you’d like to sell\, trade\, or give away!  If you do bring gear\, it will be helpful to bring a blanket to set up your stuff on.\n\nCoaches…we also need volunteers to help run this event and make it FUN!  We have a different form for you to sign up HERE.\n\nPLEASE sign up in advance for this event so we can ensure we have enough coaches to make this event run smoothly and safely!\n\nPARENTS!  Please fill out one form for each child.  Your child must be registered and “practice ready” in Pit Zone to participate in this event.
