Open to all Level 1-3 NICA Coaches. \nThe Wilderness First Aid Course will meet all requirements outlined by the Wilderness Medical Society for the WFA certification\, which will include Patient Assessment and Movement\, as well as Managing Major Trauma\, Wounds\, and Musculoskeletal Injuries.  We will also devote time to Common Medical and Environmental Problems\, particularly those relevant to Cycling Coaches and Leaders. \nWhile we’ll cover the full spectrum of required topics\, there will be an emphasis on simple strategies for handling common problems.  There will be time for questions and discussion in the highly interactive learning environment. DESCRIPTION:Wilderness First-Aid For Coaches \nCourse Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM \nRegistration Information:  The cost for this course is normally $250.  IICL coaches will receive a discounted rate of $175 by using the code ‘BIKE’ during checkout. Register HERE. \nOther Info: This course is taught by Cascade Raft and Kayak.  Participants will receive a 3-year certification from Sierra Rescue for WFA and 2-year for CPR. \nThis 16-hour class will fulfill NICA Coach Licensing Level 2 & 3 First Aid requirements. Open to all Level 1-3 NICA Coaches. \nThe Wilderness First Aid Course will meet all requirements outlined by the Wilderness Medical Society for the WFA certification\, which will include Patient Assessment and Movement\, as well as Managing Major Trauma\, Wounds\, and Musculoskeletal Injuries.  We will also devote time to Common Medical and Environmental Problems\, particularly those relevant to Cycling Coaches and Leaders. \nWhile we’ll cover the full spectrum of required topics\, there will be an emphasis on simple strategies for handling common problems.  There will be time for questions and discussion in the highly interactive learning environment. Significant time will also be devoted to hands-on practice\, scenarios\, and case studies to help ingrain knowledge gained during lecture.

DESCRIPTION:NICA’s coach education staff host online leaders’ summits throughout the year. These one-hour\, live Zoom workshops are hosted at a variety of times/dates to accommodate coaches’ busy schedules. Coaches can complete the four core summit sessions in any order over the course of time. We keep track of attendance\, but encourage participants to also track which sessions they complete. \nTo achieve a Level 3 license\, coaches must attend all four core sessions of the NICA Leaders’ Summit. The Coach Education team tracks attendance using Zoom’s attendance reports. Once you’ve attended all four sessions\, your Pit Zone profile will be updated within one week of finishing your final session. \nIf you are already a Level 3 coach\, or you are a Level 2 coach looking for CEUs\, you can attend sessions individually for 1 CEU each. Please inform the NICA coach education department if you are taking any workshops for CEUs. Instructions are provided at the beginning of each session. \nRegister HERE.

DESCRIPTION:ON-THE-BIKE 101\nNICA’s On-the-Bike (OTB) 101 course is required for all Level 2 and 3 coaches. OTB 101 introduces the essential mountain bike skills that student-athletes need\, while also helping coaches learn how to effectively teach these skills in a youth development setting.
