SUMMARY:On-The-Bike Skill 101 (OTB101): In-Person Clinic\, Boise\, ID
DESCRIPTION:ON-THE-BIKE 101\nNICA’s On-the-Bike (OTB) 101 course is required for all Level 2 and 3 coaches. OTB 101 introduces the essential mountain bike skills that student-athletes need\, while also helping coaches learn how to effectively teach these skills in a youth development setting. Its primary function is not to teach coaches themselves to be better riders; the primary outcome is for coaches to gain a full understanding of how to deliver impactful\, competent skills instruction. \nOTB 101 CONSISTS OF THREE PARTS:\n\nAn online (classroom) OTB 101 course\, located in the NICA Education Center\nAn in-person 3-hour skills course hosted by league coach supporter trainers\nA resource suite including a 46-page digital manual (located in the the NICA Education Center for coaches who complete the course) and pocket-sized coaching field guide\n\nTo register\, please complete the registration form HERE. \nQuestions regarding this course can be sent to Andrew Shaber: andrew@idahomtb.org \n

DESCRIPTION:ON-THE-BIKE 201\nNICA’s OTB 201 course is a five-hour (split between two sessions)\, in-person intermediate-to-advanced skills training clinic that builds on the foundational skills of OTB 101. In addition to learning how to effectively teach new skills\, coaches participate in hands-on practice instruction in the form of “teach backs” to their fellow clinic participants. Coaches receive a pocket-sized field guide and a digital skills manual. \nOTB 201 is not required for coach licensure\, but offers a great opportunity for coaches looking to expand their coaching and facilitation skills. SUMMARY:NICA Online Leader's Summit - Working with NICA Student Athletes (1 hr)
DESCRIPTION:NICA’s coach education staff host online leaders’ summits throughout the year. These one-hour\, live Zoom workshops are hosted at a variety of times/dates to accommodate coaches’ busy schedules. Coaches can complete the four core summit sessions in any order over the course of time. We keep track of attendance\, but encourage participants to also track which sessions they complete. \nTo achieve a Level 3 license\, coaches must attend all four core sessions of the NICA Leaders’ Summit. The Coach Education team tracks attendance using Zoom’s attendance reports. Once you’ve attended all four sessions\, your Pit Zone profile will be updated within one week of finishing your final session. \nIf you are already a Level 3 coach\, or you are a Level 2 coach looking for CEUs\, you can attend sessions individually for 1 CEU each. Please inform the NICA coach education department if you are taking any workshops for CEUs. Instructions are provided at the beginning of each session. \nRegister HERE.
