Register HERE. \nOther Info: This course is taught by Cascade Raft and Kayak.  Participants will receive a 3-year certification from Sierra Rescue for WFA and 2-year for CPR. \nThis 16-hour class will fulfill NICA Coach Licensing Level 2 & 3 First Aid requirements. Open to all Level 1-3 NICA Coaches. \nThe Wilderness First Aid Course will meet all requirements outlined by the Wilderness Medical Society for the WFA certification\, which will include Patient Assessment and Movement\, as well as Managing Major Trauma\, Wounds\, and Musculoskeletal Injuries.  We will also devote time to Common Medical and Environmental Problems\, particularly those relevant to Cycling Coaches and Leaders. \nWhile we’ll cover the full spectrum of required topics\, there will be an emphasis on simple strategies for handling common problems.  There will be time for questions and discussion in the highly interactive learning environment. Register HERE. \nOther Info: This course is taught by Alpine Endurance Medicine founded by Luke Nelson in 2021 and offers a distinctive blend of online and in-person courses tailored to various learners\, including students and professionals. With Luke Nelson’s extensive background in wilderness medicine spanning two decades\, the institution ensures top-notch education in this field. \nThe course time is roughly 20 hours\, split between self paced online learning and a full day field session. The field session\, held on the date noted on the ticket\, will be conducted on the trails outside of Pocatello\, ID and will be based off of mountain bikes. Upon completion of the course\, both the online and in person components\, the participants will receive a certification card valid for two years. \n

SUMMARY:IICL In-Person Leader Summit (East Idaho)
DESCRIPTION:In-person leader summits are important to make sure that our leaders are aligned appropriately with NICA’s mission\, vision\, values and culture.\nAdditionally these summits provide a valuable opportunity for team leaders to network with each other\, build relationships and strengthen our Idaho NICA community. \nTopics for the summit will include: \n\nNICA safety protocols/guidelines for practices\, pre-rides and races\nHow to manage disagreements/conflict with mutual respect\nUpdates of IICL rules\nUpdates on NICA Code of Conduct (Student\, Coach and Adult)\nManaging team and league growth\nManaging trail congestion and user conflict\nWorking with outside agencies for permitting (many of our teams are now being required to obtain permits for practices)\nManaging the relationship with outside racing development teams\nOther topics as needed\n\nLunch\, drinks and snacks will be provided. \nExact location: TBD \nThese summits are geared toward coaches in a leadership role on an IICL team and all attendees should be a NICA Level 3 coach\, or working toward Level 3 with only WFA remaining.  If you are interested in attending but do not meet these requirements\, please email Eddie (eddie@idahomtb.org) to request approval to attend. \nThere is no cost to attend\, however pre-registration is required.  Please register HERE. \nThere will be an optional group ride at the end of day.
